On Saturday, April 14th over 320 of us came together to support the incredible individuals we serve every day at Helping Hand Center. I truly enjoyed celebrating my first, of many, galas with all of you.
Before coming to Helping Hand Center, I searched for an organization where I could be part of empowering people of all ages with Intellectual Disabilities to move toward independence, to discover their potential, and to connect with the community around them. I have found that in Helping Hand Center.
At our Gala, I shared the stories of Harry, Susan, Paula, and Sam. Harry is searching for the ability to make a personal connection with the outside world. Susan, a middle school student, is searching to express herself and be heard. Paula is searching for meaningful employment. And Sam is searching to make a difference in the lives’ of others by teaching sign language.
It is through therapy, education, meaningful activities, jobs, housing, and the other services we offer at Helping Hand Center that these children and adults we serve find what they are searching for. And it is through you that we are able to keep those programs robust and growing.
Our evening was a success – we raised over $160,000! And thanks to our generous sponsors, we raised an additional $38,000 this year in annual sponsorships. We are truly grateful for your support.
On behalf of our Boards, Staff, Clients and myself, thank you for making an impact.
