Spokesperson Training Program

Excellent Volunteer Opportunity

The Spokesperson Training Program is a volunteer opportunity within Helping Hand Center that involves recruiting a select group of individuals to be trained as spokespeople for the agency. As a Helping Hand Spokesperson, you will receive training on the programs and services offered by Helping Hand Center, as well as learn effective techniques in public speech and giving presentations.

Following the training process, you will be equipped with:

- Agency literature and contact information.
- Assistance from a Helping Hand Staff Liaison so you are prepared to give four presentations in the venue or forum of your choice.

 

Presentation Deatils

Presentations will be about five minutes in length and can be easily catered to fit any venue. The setting should be one in which you are comfortable presenting at have an existing relationship with in the community. The forum might be a church, a school, a social group, a business, or a community gathering. These presentations take place throughout the course of the year and can be scheduled at your convenience.

Our Goal

The goal of this program is simply to spread information to the larger community regarding Helping Hand Center, our mission, the services we offer, and ways in which individuals and organizations can support our mission by assisting persons with disabilities to achieve their highest level of success.

Helping Hand Center provides a variety of day and evening programming for both children and adults with disabilities. Similarly, there are countless opportunities for individuals to donate their time, services, and goods to support our residential homes, the Brookfield Thrift Shop, Subcon Packing & Assembly, or the agency and its mission as a whole. Both facets of Helping Hand Center stand to benefit from the information spread through the Spokesperson Training Program.
