Organize Your Own Fundraiser

One way that individuals and companies can help support our mission is by organizing their own fundraiser. Your generosity will help us to purchase many items from each of our programs “wish lists.” Some of these items include an electric potting wheel for use in arts and crafts, a set of hand chimes to enhance our music program, an additional electrical handicap accessible door pad, as well as many others. No matter the size of your fundraiser, you can make a difference!

There are many different options for the type of fundraiser that can be held for Helping Hand. Some examples include:

  • Walks/Runs
  • Toy drives
  • Book drives
  • Fashion shows
  • Bake sales
  • Garage Sales
  • Fitness challenges
  • Girl Scout/Eagle Scout/Boy Scout/school projects
  • Auctions
  • Dance marathons
  • Car washes

Helpful Tips for Organizing Your Own Fundraiser

We are greatly appreciative of the selection of our organization as the beneficiary of your event. We hope your event will be a great success! Here are some tips that may be helpful to you:

Decide the type of fundraiser you will have

Decide on the event that best utilizes the talents, skills, and interests of you and/or your group.

Set a fundraising budget

When organizing a fundraising event, establish a realistic monetary goal and try to keep your costs as low as possible. Remember, the lower your costs, the larger your contribution will be!

Determine who to ask to contribute

You can ask friends, family members, neighbors, coworkers, or anyone else you think will support your cause or group.

Schedule your event

Schedule your event for a day that provides you with enough time to plan and promote it. Make sure your event is not competing with another event happening in your community and don’t forget about various holidays that occur throughout the year

Collect all monetary contributions

Gather most donations ahead of time or during the event. Otherwise, all funds should be in-hand within 30 days of the event.
