This Friday, January 13th, as the Fenwick High School Friars hockey team faces off against the New Trier Green on the Friars’ home turf, patrons will be invited to donate $2 to Helping Hand Center, a local nonprofit in Countryside serving children and adults with disabilities. The Friars hockey team first got involve with Helping Hand Center in 2010, when players volunteered for the annual Donation Day, collecting money by storefronts on behalf of the organization. Since then, the hockey team has provided volunteers for numerous other service projects, including staffing agency events and fundraisers, helping with Special Olympics programming, and assisting in the renovations of one of Helping Hand Center’s residential homes.

All proceeds from the Friars’ game against New Trier will go towards the services and programs provided by Helping Hand Center. The game starts at 8pm at the Ridgeland Commons Ice Arena , 415 West Lake Street in Oak Park. For more information regarding the fundraiser or the programs and services provided by Helping Hand Center, please call (708)352-3580.
