Donation Day

Donation Day is coming up this Saturday, September 10th. We’ll have staff, volunteers, clients and family members assigned to various locations throughout the area to collect donations and all proceeds will go towards the programs and services provided by Helping Hand Center.

Annual Family Picnic

The Family Association Family Picnic is coming up on Sept. 18th from 11:00am  - 3:00pm at Walker Park in Burr Ridge. This is a wonderful day for our clients, families  and everyone involved with Helping Hand  Center. We hope you can attend  - you will enjoy it! Helping Hand Center Program Updates 

Helping Hand Center Chief Clinical Officer

Helping Hand Center is happy to announce Julie Hautamaki has returned as our Chief Clinical Officer!  Julie has worked at Helping Hand Center since 2007 and this past year completed her work to obtain her PhD.  She is highly qualified for the position and her expertise has provided Helping Hand Center clients and families excellent outcomes.  Julie most recently completed her APA accredited clinical internship at Boston Consortium in Clinical Psychology where she completed a Clinical Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Teaching Fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine. She will graduate from Illinois Institute of Technology with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Rehabilitation Psychology. Hautamaki graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology and Cognitive Science. She holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Illinois Institute of Technology and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She completed her clinical training at several local universities and hospitals including the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago and University of Illinois. Her research and publications have primarily focused on stigma and disability. Welcome back Julie - Helping Hand Center is fortunate to have you back!!
