Pre-School Preparation

Helping Hand Children’s Services offers two unique therapeutic play groups as part of our pre-school preparation program.

BRIGHTER FUTURES

Brighter Futures is an intensive early learning program for children with communication, sensory and social needs. The group offers comprehensive treatment with Developmental Therapy, Speech & Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy and also includes Parent Liaison services for the family. This group follows an intensive pre-school preparation schedule, meeting for 2 hours 3 times per week.

SPEECH & DEVELOPMENTAL THERAPY GROUP

Our Speech & Development Therapy Group offers a structured program for children using the Supported Play Model. The Speech & Language Pathologist and Developmental Therapist facilitate play and activities, encouraging each child in the areas of positive social interaction, handling transitions between activities, and functional communication skills, such as the use of gestures, pictures and verbalizations. This group is 60 minutes one time per week.

Although we occasionally have a waiting list for these groups, we have an open enrollment policy as space becomes available.
