Our school is a year-round therapeutic day program focused on the following principles:

Our ultimate goal is for each child to become as independent as possible.

Our staff consists of a collaborative-child focused team of highly skilled professionals who provide individual support and programming for each child.

The learning environment at the Helping Hand Center School for Children with Autism is structured, supportive and student-centered.

We create an interactive and supportive team that consists of family, home school district staff, and Helping Hand Center professionals.
Commitment to Best Practices
In the field of autism research, there are commonly agreed upon universal best practices. Helping Hand Center’s School for Children with Autism is dedicated to staying current with these best practices in the field.

 

PROGRAM DETAILS

School hours are from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The students’ home school districts approve and pay for placement and provide transportation. We are approved by the Illinois State Board of Education and are a partner of the Autism Society of Illinois. All students must have an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis.
