HELPING HAND SCHOOL OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - F.T. - A Full-Time Occupational Therapist Position to work in a Model Best Practice Therapeutic Day School for Children. Terrific Opportunity to join a creative, innovative interdisciplinary TEAM! We are looking for an energetic individual who enjoys variety and works well independently and with a team; who has experience with group therapy, individual therapy, and an array of disabilities and delays. RESIDENTIAL
CILA SUPERVISOR - F.T. - Helping Hand Center is seeking a Residential Supervisor to provide supervision and care of adults with disabilities residing in the agencys CILA (Community Ingretated Living Arrangement) homes in the communities surrounding LaGrange, IL. A Bachelors Degree in social services or related field is preferred with at least two years experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. Prior supervisory experience and knowledge of Social Security and Public Aid regulations regarding persons with disabilities also required. The qualified candidate must possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record for Pace driver certification; basic computer skills and good verbal and written communication skills. The CILA Supervisor is responsible for supervising and training staff; planning and developing programming to include habilitation, educational, therapeutic, dietary, health maintenance and social activities for all residents; scheduling of staff for program coverage; supervising staff in the monitoring of residents personal finances; montoring Petty Cash; relieving other staff as scheduled and necessary to provide proper coverage of the program; transporting residents in agency and Pace vehicles for various program purposes; ensuring facilities are well maintained and that good safety practices are consistently maintained which includes completion and documentation of fire drills, emergency drills and facility inspections. Full-Time Hours, evening shift.
OVERNIGHT RESIDENTIAL TRAINER - DSP - F.T. - Needed to provide life skills training for adults with developmental disabilities living in the community. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 23 years of age and possess a valid D.L. with an acceptable driving record for PACE certification; experience working with adults with disabilities required. Previous DSP preferred but will train. This position is Full-Time with overnight hours.
RECREATION SPECIALIST - F.T. - The Helping Hand Center is seeking a full-time Recreation Specialist to provide support, training and service coordination for 16 adults with developmental disabilities living in a residential home located in Summit, IL. The Recreation Specialist is responsible for organizing and conducting recreational programs with the goal of group interaction, community inclusion, increasing physical endurance, providing support, encouraging independence, and increasing self-confidence. This position is also responsible for training staff in conducting activities, developing an annual and monthly budget for programming, and transporting clients in agency vehicles in the community. Hours: 2:30 pm. to 10:30 p.m. weekdays and available weekends. Requirements: Certified Recreation Therapist (CRT) or eligible for certification within 6 months; must be at least 23 years of age and possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record for Pace driver certification; prior experience working with adults with disabilities; outgoing personality with good oral and written communication skills; knowledge of Microsoft computer programs.
RESIDENTIAL TRAINER DSP - F.T./P.T. - Needed to provide life skills training for adults with developmental disabilities living in the community. Evening, overnight and weekend hours available. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 23 years of age and possess a valid D.L. with an acceptable driving record for PACE certification; experience working with adults with disabilities required. Previous DSP preferred but will train.
TEAM LEADER - F.T. - Provide supervision of staff in the absence and along side of program supervisor. Responsible for required grocery and household shopping; petty cash funds; assisting residents with banking and budgeting; maintaining monthly recreation calendar; developing monthly menus; and scheduling staff to meet programming needs. Must have prior experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in a residential setting; previous DSP preferred. Must be at least 23 years of age and possess a valid D.L. with an acceptable driving record for Pace driver certification.
SPECIAL RECREATION
PART-TIME RECREATIONAL TRAINER - P.T. - Helping Hand Center is seeking a part-time Trainer for our After-Hours Recreation Program. Provide recreational and support services for adults with developmental disabilities. The qualified candidate will be energetic, creative, and possess excellent communication skills. Work Hours: Tuesday and Thursday 5-8 pm, Saturday 10 am -4 pm. Previous experience working with adults with disabilities, a High School diploma or GED, must be at least 23 years of age and possess a valid D.L. with an acceptable driving record for Pace driver certification. Previous DSP preferred but will train.
