Day Program
Our Day Program emphasize choice and independence.
Our day program focuses on the overall wellness of the individuals we serve. The wellness model we incorporate into our programming considers the physical, emotional, economic, personal, intellectual, communit,y and social wellness of those involved. Our programs include Arts & Crafts, Library, Computers, Independent Life Skills, Cooking, Music, Fitness and Recreation. We also provide community outings to enhance socialization and community integration.
In addition to the general curriculums, each program area offers unique specialized groups that provide even more specific experiences. Every individual served within our day program has the opportunity to participate in all programs offered and additionally choose specialized programs that meet their specific needs or interests.
Many the individuals who attend our Day Program also choose to split their time between programming and working in Helping Hand Center's sheltered workshop, Subcon Packing & Assembly, where they gain valuable work skills, as well as a paycheck.
Our clients also enjoy their social time at program breaks at The Hand Stand, a lunch café operated by clients from our Employment Services.
Transportation services may be available. Many clients also take the bus through PACE, which operates a stop just steps away from our building.
Clients who participate in Day Services may also be interested in our other Adult Services, such as Employment Services, Residential Housing, or our Afternoon & Weekend Programs.
