Physical Fitness

The purpose of the physical fitness program is to assist individuals in learning body mechanics, to learn the importance of dietary awareness and physical health, and to engage individuals in various models of physical fitness that may include stretching, yoga, low impact aerobics, and mild strength training.

Our specialty groups include:

Musically Fit

Teaches movement & exercise through live beats and music.

Yoga

Teaches different Yoga poses, relaxation and breathing techniques.

Balance & Core

Individual workout plans specified for those that need more strength in their core and legs to increase balance and posture.

5K

Teaches individuals how to properly train for a 5k community walk-proper walking techniques and speed.  This includes timed walks, use of a pedometer, and walking with weights.

Walking for Wellness

This group is for individuals who like to walk but cannot do a 5k. 

Special Olympics

Individuals do strength training that prepares their body for participation in Special Olympic sports.

Healthy Living

Individuals will use their time in the computer room to keep a personal log of their calorie intake and progress and in fitness they will work on developing their own exercise plan.
