Recreation

The purpose of the Therapeutic Recreation Program is to provide meaningful activities that improve client wellness by positively impacting cognitive, social, psychological, spiritual, and leisure functioning. Activities involve leisure education and awareness, leisure resources, group activities, leadership of peers, adapted leisure and recreation skills, one on one intervention, and sensory stimulation.

Our specialty groups include:

Community Integration

To provide real life therapeutic experiences in a community setting and to enhance social skills and community awareness

Community Experiences

Plans and goes on outings to develop appropriate social and community safety skills.

Adaptive Sports

A program in conjunction with Seaspar, uses adaptive equipment to assist individuals with limited mobility to participate in sports.

Leisure Skills

Individuals will learn leisure skills that will increase independent functioning (public transportatin, healthy leisure choices, budgeting, social skills related to leisure, etc)  

Sensory Relaxation

Individuals will be exposed to external relaxers related to the senses. 

Games Around the World

Individuals will learn and play different kind of games.
