Cooking
The purpose of the cooking groups is to teach the basic skills required for healthy meal preparation including developing their senses through identifying ingredients, following the steps of a recipe, cutting, measuring, and using an oven or microwave. It is hoped that through the acquisition of these skills, individuals will become more independent in their daily lives, as well as build their self esteem through the completion of recipe, and build stronger relationships with families and friends through shared experiences that can be generalized within their homes.

To increase knowledge of food and ingredients and to acquire advanced skills in progressively complex culinary techniques while enhancing understanding of different cultures.
Adaptive Cooking
We are working to develop an adaptive cooking group that will incorporate assistive technology to support independence in cooking skills.
